What is the job role?
Sitting within the Facilities Management department, Coventry City Council's Energy Management Team has established itself as one of the critical teams within the Council providing essential support services across all service sectors as the City continues to achieve its sustainability targets and builds towards a more resilient future. The team are responsible for advising on and managing utility related matters, supporting the delivery of wide-ranging city improvement projects and developing and delivering a growing programme of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
We are looking for an experienced Energy Officer to undertake the day-to-day energy management activities for the Council’s utility accounts as the city faces significant challenges. This is a 2 year fixed term contract.
This role is for someone who understands all areas related to utility management and has experience of managing energy accounts across a varied portfolio of building types and utilities. The successful person will have responsibility for the core energy management activities of the Council including:
1. Bill Validation & Payment
2. Energy Data Management
3. Utility / Supplier Management
In addition, the role holder will be responsible for managing and growing our service offering to external customers through our Energy Management SLA and will also support the wider Energy Management team as required.

In addition to your general utility management experience, you will need to be able to demonstrate:
4. Your ability to work independently in a frequently changing environment.
5. A clear understanding and experience of validating and reviewing utility accounts
6. Demonstrable experience of forecasting utility budgets and reporting on spend performance.
7. Experience of using Energy Management software and dealing with the large data sets within it.
8. Account and query management alongside developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships.
