About The Role

We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Trainer to join the team. This is more than just a job — it's a chance to be part of a life-changing journey for both our dogs and the people they go on to support.

In this role, you'll be responsible for assessing and educating dogs to meet the high standards of our charity. You'll work closely make sure every dog receives the care, training, and attention that they need to thrive on their learning journey. From maintaining accurate records to supporting public engagement and mentoring others, this is a varied and rewarding role for someone who's organised, empathetic, and committed to best practice in dog training.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines a deep understanding of dog behaviour and welfare with a thoughtful, dog and people-centred approach. You'll need to be confident in recognising and responding to concerns about a dog's wellbeing or progress, and able to act quickly and sensitively when needed.

You'll bring sound personal judgement, especially when designing tailored education programmes that meet the needs of both dogs and the people they support. You'll be comfortable working collaboratively across teams, managing resources, and contributing to strategic planning. Strong communication skills are essential — whether you're working with colleagues, volunteers, service users, or external partners, you'll be able to adapt your approach and build positive relationships.

We're also looking for someone with a solid foundation of knowledge and experience in areas such as dog learning theory, welfare legislation, disability awareness, safeguarding, and health and safety. If you're someone who thrives on collaboration, champions best practice, and is always looking for ways to improve and innovate, we'd love to hear from you.

Other Requirements

* You must be over 18 years of age.
* You must have the right to live and work in the UK.
* You must be comfortable working around dogs.
* Driving the charity's vehicles is part of the role, so a full driving licence is preferred but, where applicable, we will work with the chosen candidate to find alternative solutions in those instances where reasonable adjustments are required.
* As you will be working with vulnerable people, you will be required to undergo a DBS check. This will be renewed every 3 years.
* You'll be expected to have a good understanding of safeguarding issues and how they should be applied to the work of the charity and its partner organisations. Full training on this will be provided during your induction.

1st stage interviews will be held on Monday 27th October 2025.

2nd stage interviews will be held on Tuesday 4th November 2025.
