WardB28 at Sunderland Royal Hospital are looking from an enthusiastic person withexcellent communication and listening skills to come and work as part of ourteam, in a ward clerk role. You will be expected to work to a high standard andhave a good knowledge of IT packages and applications. Full training andsupport will be given.
Ward B28 is a speciality ward within the directorate ofmedical specialities, which covers Renal Haematology, Oncology andRheumatology.
You will act as a point of contact for patients, relativesand carers. You will provide a full range of administration and receptionduties to support the ward, ensuring patient discharges and follow ups areappropriately actioned, answering the telephone and dealing with visitors tothe ward. The post is veryactive and requires movement around the hospital with potential cross sitecover and you will be required to cover various wards. The successful candidatewill be adaptable to change and flexible to the needs of the business, be motivated and enthusiastic and as a Trust we offerexcellent career progression. Excellent organisational skills are essential asis an empathetic nature. The post is 19 hours per week, over 7 days between thehours of 7.30am and 8pm.
Main duties of the job
To provide a full range of clericaland reception duties supporting the professional qualified health care workersin the delivery of a quality service for all patients who attend the ward. To work closely with the Ward team andspecialist Doctors.
Youmust possess excellent communication skills and are able to work in a busyenvironment.
Beable to learn new skills and IT systems
Youwill also assist in activities on the ward and assist where needed the wardteam.
Youmust be able to work well with a wide variety of health care professionals.
Youmust be comfortable in an environment in speaking with patients and theirrelatives.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience in working with computers.
* Working in health care setting.
* Previous experience of working within a clerical environment.
