Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalised care and assistance.
Responsibilities
* Provide assistance with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
* Support clients with mobility and physical tasks, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
* Assist with behaviour management strategies for clients with Alzheimer's or dementia care needs.
* Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients by adhering to health and safety protocols.
* Document client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is preferred.
* Knowledge of patient care practices, including first aid and medication administration.
* Experience in senior care, hospice care, or caregiving is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with Alzheimer's and dementia care techniques is an advantage.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by client needs.
