Job Summary
Morecambe South District Nurses are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and highly motivated Band 4 Community Nurse Associate, excited to work in an evolving district nursing service. The successful applicant will be committed to working closely with health and social care colleagues to provide high-quality care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions in the community setting. This role is permanent, 37.5 hours per week, with flexible working over 7 days, including weekends and evenings.
Main Duties of the Job
The team is based in Morecambe, a seaside town, making it a desirable place to work and live. The post holder will work as a registrant within Community Services, providing evidence-based, holistic nursing care. You will join a friendly and motivated team that values staff development, offering regular clinical supervision, training, and occupational health services. Collaboration with other professionals, voluntary sectors, and informal carers is essential to promote excellent patient care at home and in the community. Excellent communication skills are required for complex assessments and care planning. A full UK driving license is necessary.

We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, along with community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. Our services include emergency, critical care, outpatient, diagnostics, therapies, day surgery, and outreach services.

Essential
* Registered Nurse Associate experience
* Experience working in a team and lone worker experience
* Experience in venipuncture, wound care, including reassessment, palliative care, safe medication administration, and recording
Desirable
* Catheter care (female, male, suprapubic), compression therapy
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and record keeping), computer skills
