Job Title: IT Senior Network Engineer, Network Engineering and Operations

Job Purpose
The IT Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the engineering, implementation, and operations support of AVEVA’s enterprise network and security infrastructures. Work as a member of the Global IT Network Engineering and Operations Team supporting network and security infrastructures at multiple data centers and 40 offices worldwide.
Responsibilities
The individual will be involved in the following critical activities:
1. This individual will focus primarily on implementing and supporting software applications used by the network team, including LogicMonitor, Algosec security policy management software, configuration backup software, and syslog servers.
2. Design, implement and support AVEVA’s global network and network security infrastructures, SDWAN, LAN, WiFi, datacenter fabric, software-defined virtual networks, Cloud networking, firewalls, load balancers, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Content Deliver Networks (CDN), Cloud Proxies, DNS Security, VPN gateways, Network Admission Control, and other aspects of network security.
3. Work with Network Team leadership to develop and measure Network KPIs and SLOs. Implement and support tools to enhance network observability and collect KPI metrics.
4. Define and document network and security configuration standards and network designs that supports AVEVA’s converged networking infrastructure.
5. Participate in network and security infrastructure engineering discussions and decisions.
6. Provide Tier-3 and 4 support of network and security infrastructures, including leading network and security incidents response.
7. Help provide 24x7 support coverage.
8. Help mentor and train other engineers and operations support staff.
9. Network automation with tools such as Ansible and Python.
10. Consistently provide high quality work in a deadline driven environment.
11. Accountable for accomplishing tasks both independently and collaboratively.
Requirements:
12. At least 10 years of extensive hands-on experience working with IP networking and/or network security infrastructures.
13. Hands-on advanced knowledge of networking technologies, including SDWAN, LAN, WiFi, remote access, routing and switching, Internet & BGP routing, DNS, cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP, VMWare), VoIP/Unified Communication, and networking protocols.
14. Configuration, implementation and support of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, SSL encryption and decryption, web proxy, Web Application Firewalls, load balancers, DDoS protection, NAC and SIEM.
15. Sound understanding of network access control, network segmentation and security best practices.
16. Automation, scripting and programming skills such as Python and PowerShell
17. Extensive hands-on experience working with various operating systems such as Windows and various UNIX variants (especially Linux and MacOS)
18. Strong troubleshooting skills, including the use of Wireshark and packet analysis
19. Extensive experience with implementing and using network monitoring tools and HPSM/ServiceNow. Hands-on experience of CMDB a plus.
20. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
21. Cisco CCIE certification or similar level hands-on experience
22. Experience working with Cisco networking and security products
23. Cloud infrastructure (e.g. Azure, AWS) security knowledge and experience
24. VMWare VCF networking and security

Hybrid working
