Purpose of the Role:
The Early Careers Graduate supports the Early Careers team in the coordination and delivery of activity across the Early Careers lifecycle, aligned to the Talent Academy Framework and supporting programmes including Graduates, Industrial Placements, Summer Placements, Apprenticeships and Trainees.
The role carries out a broad range of tasks that require established skills and practical or academic training, supporting a high quality experience for candidates, new joiners, managers and stakeholders across the organisation.
Role Dimensions
Reports to Senior Associate, Early Careers. Supports Early Careers programmes across the organisation, working closely with People Partners, People Experience, hiring managers and external institutions to deliver agreed activities and maintain operational consistency. The postholder plans and prioritises weekly workload to meet team goals, and provides facilitative and coordinating support across one or several departments.
Principal Accountabilities
Attraction & Engagement
* Support the coordination of attraction activity across Early Careers programme areas, including preparing event materials, schedules and stakeholder communications.
* Support delivery of outreach activities such as careers fairs, insight days and community events through logistics coordination and follow‑up actions.
* Maintain and update contact lists for universities, colleges, schools and student groups, ensuring accurate record keeping.
* Support coordination with the Communications team to ensure Early Careers promotional materials are current, accurate and shared in line with agreed plans.
Recruitment Coordination
* Support coordination of the end‑to‑end administrative process for Early Careers recruitment cycles, including scheduling, documentation and communications, working to established processes.
* Maintain accurate applicant tracking within the ATS and related systems, ensuring records are complete and up to date.
* Provide timely and professional candidate communication using agreed templates, ensuring a high‑quality experience and appropriate escalation of queries.
* Support feedback processes for unsuccessful candidates under guidance, ensuring communications are timely and consistent.
Assessment Centre Delivery
* Coordinate defined aspects of assessment and selection activity, including scheduling support, booking logistics and preparation of materials.
* Provide on‑the‑day support to assessors and candidates, helping activities run smoothly and escalating issues where appropriate.
* Collate feedback from assessors, candidates and hiring managers and produce summary outputs to support continuous improvement discussions.
Onboarding Coordination
* Support onboarding activity for Early Careers starters in partnership with People Experience and People Generalists.
* Assist with induction schedules, welcome materials and communications, ensuring onboarding actions are tracked and completed.
* Act as a point of contact for routine onboarding and programme queries, escalating more complex matters appropriately.
Programme Support
* Support maintenance of programme calendars, including development sessions, networking activities, check‑ins and milestone events.
* Support record keeping and tracking for mentoring and buddying frameworks, ensuring accurate data and follow‑ups.
* Support coordination of Early Careers Community events such as workshops, Lunch & Learns and internal networking activities.
Data, Reporting & Compliance
* Maintain accurate data across Early Careers trackers and systems, supporting consistent reporting and operational decisions.
* Support preparation of routine weekly summaries and basic reporting packs (e.g., activity updates, pipeline snapshots) under guidance.
* Support apprenticeship and trainee documentation requirements where applicable, escalating compliance questions appropriately.
Administrative & Operational Support
* Support management of shared Early Careers inboxes, responding to standard queries using guidance and templates and escalating as required.
* Maintain templates, documentation, packs and handbooks, ensuring version control and accuracy.
* Support logistics for STEM Ambassador activity and Early Careers events, including coordination of materials and scheduling support.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
* Established skills and academic or practical training to bachelor’s degree.
* Ability to schedule and prioritise workload each week to meet team goals.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly with data and documentation.
* Confident communication skills, with professionalism when engaging candidates and stakeholders.
* Aspiration to develop skills and continuously add value to ways of working; proactive in offering support to process improvement and problem resolution.
Desirable:
* Experience supporting recruitment coordination, events or HR administration.
* Familiarity with ATS/HRIS systems and trackers.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Here at McLaren, we offer hybrid working with 3 days a week based in the MTC.

The MTC is connected to Woking mainline station via regular shuttle buses, from which London Waterloo is a 30 minute train ride.
