Contract Length: 3 MonthsHays are partnering with a local council to recruit an Interim Project Planner. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced, collaborative team where you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful impact across the organisation.Key Responsibilities
1. Develop a regular cadence for updating the IRP, Business Plan and Operational Delivery Plan.
2. Lead regular sessions with Delivery Leads to review, update and maintain all plans and reports.
3. Produce consistent and accurate reporting to track milestones, ensuring alignment with all key plans.
4. Establish processes and reporting ensuring risks, issues and dependencies are clearly understood and regularly updated.
5. Ensure all plans are aligned and maintained efficiently, including FTOM and detailed delivery plans.
6. Design and implement a robust change control process to ensure all changes are fully impact‑assessed and approved.
Skills & Experience Required
7. Proven experience in programme or project planning across multiple projects/workstreams.
8. Strong understanding of risk, issue and dependency management.
9. Confident stakeholder management skills, particularly with project delivery or workstream leads.
10. Ability to interpret project plans and challenge delivery assumptions where needed.
11. Proficiency with project management/planning tools (, MS Project).
12. Strong analytical skills with the ability to create clear, concise reporting for senior stakeholders.
