Offer description

Overview

Would you like to live and work on the Yorkshire coast, with access to beaches, moors and towns? We are looking for a qualified Physiotherapist to join our specialist Elderly Frailty team at Scarborough Hospital. We are a supportive team with opportunities to work with colleagues across a number of specialties, and we are currently looking for someone to dynamically lead and promote Physiotherapy within this specialist area. You will have the close support of the Advanced Clinical Specialists within the team, and access to our wider AHP colleagues both on site and across the Trust. We are keen that our staff have the opportunity to work and develop across all the 4 pillars of practice, and we have a robust structure of supervision, training and advancement. We are a community focused hospital with exciting changes and development including our new UECC unit.

You will have the chance to work alongside a supportive MDT, with the need to be able to assess in an effective and timely manner in a rapidly paced environment, while receiving robust supervision and training. There is also an opportunity to support the voluntary Orthopaedic weekend rota.

As part of seeking to become more inclusive, we will consider requests for flexible working from the start of your employment. We would encourage you to speak to the recruiting manager named within this advert to discuss any requirements you may have.

Responsibilities

* Lead and promote Physiotherapy within the Elderly Frailty specialty; provide clinical leadership and promote best practice.
* Support the respiratory on-call rota and participate in practical and simulation-based training programs; bite-sized practical training sessions are available throughout the year.
* Assess patients in a rapidly paced environment, ensuring timely and effective decision-making with robust supervision and training.
* Support junior staff and students; drive service development projects and contribute to quality patient care.
* Collaborate with an MDT to deliver holistic patient care.
* Be available to support voluntary Orthopaedic weekend rota where applicable.

Qualifications

* Qualified Physiotherapist with relevant registration.
* Experience in elderly frailty or a strong interest and willingness to develop skills in this area.

Benefits

* Access to the NHS Pension Scheme and related retirement benefits.
* 27 days holiday rising to 33 days (depending on NHS Trust service).
* Relocation package up to 30% of salary (capped at £18k) to support relocation expenses for hard-to-fill positions.
* Paid and unpaid leave options, and access to Employee Assistance Programme (24/7).
* NHS Car Lease scheme and Cycle to Work scheme.
* Extensive learning and development opportunities; discount programs across various providers.
* Supportive services for wellbeing and confidential counselling.
* Additional information on benefits available from the Trust’s Staff Benefits pages.
