The London Borough of Enfield is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Safeguarding Team on a 3-month ongoing contract. This is a fast-paced frontline role where you will work with children and families subject to safeguarding concerns, ensuring timely and effective interventions to protect children and promote their welfare. You will manage a varied caseload including Child Protection, Child in Need, and court work, and will be expected to hit the ground running in a well-structured and supportive team environment. Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans and Child in Need Plans
* Undertake Section 47 investigations and safeguarding enquiries
* Complete risk assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans
* Prepare high-quality reports for court, conferences, and reviews
* Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, core groups, and child protection conferences
* Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals including health, education, and police
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case recordings
Qualifications
* Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
* Experience within Safeguarding or Child Protection teams
* Strong knowledge of Children Act 1989/2004 and statutory safeguarding guidance
* Ability to manage complex caseloads and make sound decisions under pressure
* Strong assessment, communication, and report‑writing skills
