About the Firm:
We are a well-established and growing law firm based in South Devon, known for our friendly team environment, client-focused service, and strong reputation in the local property market. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Conveyancing Legal Assistant to join their expanding residential property team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1–3 years of experience in a conveyancing support role who is looking to develop their skills in a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting a busy residential conveyancing department with day-to-day administrative and legal tasks
• Preparing and sending out contract packs, searches, and completion statements
• Drafting legal documents and correspondence under supervision
• Managing client communications, both by phone and email
• Liaising with estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors
• Assisting with file opening, ID checks, and compliance procedures
• Maintaining and updating case management systems
• Ensuring all work is carried out with accuracy and within deadlines
Requirements:
• 1–3 years’ experience working as a legal assistant or legal secretary in a conveyancing department
• Strong knowledge of the conveyancing process from instruction to post-completion
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills
• Confident communicator with good client-facing skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with legal case management systems
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A proactive, flexible approach with good attention to detail
