An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highways Engagement Officer to come and join a busy client in Yorkshire. The main duties of the Highways Engagement Officer are: Act as the primary point of contact for councillors, MPs, parish/town councils and community groups on highways matters. Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and external partners. Support elected members in progressing local highways priorities and schemes. Develop and deliver communication plans for highway maintenance, improvement and traffic schemes. Prepare briefings, reports, web content, consultation material and correspondence. Manage customer enquiries, complaints and Freedom of Information responses relating to highways works. Organise and attend public meetings, drop-ins and stakeholder workshops. Work with project managers and delivery teams to identify stakeholders and plan engagement from project inception to completion. Provide timely updates on works, road closures, diversions and programme changes. Monitor feedback and ensure issues are resolved quickly and appropriately. Support consultations for TROs, parking schemes, active travel and public realm projects. Track engagement activity and report on outcomes and customer satisfaction.
