Salary: £45,000 - 70,000 per year Requirements: We are looking for extensive commercial software development experience in desktop C# applications with .NET, including .NET 6-10, .NET Framework, or .NET Core. We ideally want experience with WPF; knowledge of Prism is helpful. We anticipate some additional knowledge of C++, ideally MFC, for occasional work on legacy software. We need someone who has held senior developer responsibilities before, including taking a view on software engineering approaches, leading projects where required, and mentoring junior colleagues. We are looking for experience developing applications that let skilled users interact with and manipulate complex technical content. We value strong intuition around UI usability and an understanding of user profiles and use cases. We need someone who can get up to speed quickly and work independently as well as collaboratively. Eligibility to live and work in the UK is required. Responsibilities: We develop WPF applications for simulations in a scientific and specialist industry. We contribute to the design and development of desktop C# software and UI features. We lead and inspire a small team, providing guidance and support. We advise on new technologies and help shape software engineering approaches. We contribute input on topics such as security and IT where appropriate. We may take responsibility for leading projects and mentoring junior colleagues. We work on applications used by skilled users to interact with complex technical content. We collaborate with colleagues while also working independently when needed.
