We’re looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established ground investigation and consultancy firm based in Glasgow. The role offers a mix of site-based investigation work and office-based design/reporting, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys variety and end-to-end involvement in projects. You’ll be working on a broad range of residential, civil engineering, and redevelopment schemes – from small extensions to multi-million-pound developments. Projects cover everything from Phase 1 desk studies and Phase 2 ground investigations to earthworks design, contamination surveys, and foundation recommendations. What you’ll be doing: Conducting site investigations, including logging, sampling, monitoring and testing Preparing tailored geotechnical reports with design advice for foundations, retaining walls, earthworks and sub-grades Working closely with internal teams and external clients to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions Carrying out gas and groundwater monitoring, percolation testing, and settlement assessments What we’re looking for: A degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field Experience in both site work and report writing Familiarity with UK geotechnical standards Comfortable managing your own workload across multiple sites and projects What’s on offer: £35,000 -38,000 Permanent, full-time role based in Glasgow A varied role combining fieldwork and design Exposure to a wide range of project types and ground conditions
