Job Description:
NRL’s engineering client is looking to recruit a Lead Electrical Engineer (Design) to join them on a permanent staff basis in Macclesfield with hybrid working options.
Role Overview:
* The Lead Electrical Engineer will support the Term Framework Design Manager through Electrical Engineering, Design, and Consultancy Services.
* This role is challenging and diverse, operating in the highly regulated pharmaceutical sector.
* The position will start on a part-time basis, developing over time alongside electrical project activities.
* The candidate will support the client in delivering innovative, sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective clean energy solutions.
* We seek a high performer with significant technical competence, experience, and leadership qualities.
* Collaborative approach, strong values, and excellent communication skills are essential.
Role detail:
* The Lead Electrical Engineer reports directly to the Term Framework Design Manager and supports the department's effective operation.
* Responsibilities include assisting with audits, resource coordination, workload prioritization, and supporting design and documentation review.
* The role involves identifying, communicating, and managing risks, undertaking feasibility studies, supporting project delivery, and mentoring team members.
* Additional duties include preparing contract documentation, supporting procedural improvements, providing technical advice, leading innovative design solutions, and working closely with project teams.
Requirements:
* Chartered/Incorporated Engineer or working towards Chartership
* Experience as Lead Electrical Engineer
* Building services and electrical & instrumentation design experience
* Degree in electrical engineering or related field
* Strong understanding of design processes and documentation
* Knowledge of Building regulations, BS7671, BS5839, and ATEX standards
* Experience with industrial HV and LV distribution systems, project lifecycle (RIBA), and digital engineering tools
