Verkerks is a family-owned and Christchurch-based NZ company that has been producing quality salami for threegenerations. Based in Papanui, our factory has on-site parking and is only 15 minutes from most locations aroundChristchurch.
We have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time staff member to work as a Commercial Cleaner from 2.15pm - 10.45pm Monday - Friday, in our manufacturing facility in Papanui. Additional hours are sometimes available, with anything worked after 40 hours paid at time and a half.
You will work with some autonomy and will be responsible for ensuring hygienic and tidy workspaces for production and packing the following day. This will involve a variety of tasks from deep cleaning of various areas of the plant, to daily cleaning of large industrial machinery and the completion of waste management tasks. You will need to be comfortable working at heights and must have a full New Zealand driver's licence as you will be required to operate a forklift and scissor lift. Your daily tasks will take you both inside the factory and outdoors around the yard, meaning you are not stuck inside all day.
After a short time spent learning the basics, you will then begin to learn our more complex processes, and with eachincrease in your skill level, your pay increases, rewarding you for skills learnt.
