We are seeking a global Head of IT Strategy, Architecture and Innovation, with proven delivery and transformation experience, to build a world-class architecture, cloud, engineering and Data/AI platform that enables our value streams, product teams, digital business units and functions to accelerate innovation and speed of delivery at the heart of our high-growth business.
You will be an expert, and thought leader in (hybrid) cloud, data, and engineering technologies and architecture, able to design and implement secure, performant, and scalable solutions to meet the evolving needs of our business.
Objectives of the Role:
The Head of IT Strategy, Architecture and Innovation will lead enterprise and technical architecture, as well as an engineering shared services team organized into multiple agile squads and be responsible for their growth, upskilling, ongoing technical advancement, and business development. You will work closely with peers to align to an enterprise vision for delivery of services across Beazley’s technical functions, with a focus on delivering leading edge platform capabilities at a global enterprise level.
You will drive a culture of innovation and continuous service improvement across Beazley’s technical domains, including Engineering shared services and our technical centres of excellence.You will be part of the IT Leadership team and work closely with your peers to develop IT’s engineering talent and accelerate our speed and innovation through creation and adoption of the latest platform capabilities. As a senior leader, you will also lead the technical contribution to our overall IT strategy, improving our operating model and attracting and developing digital engineering talent across IT.
Responsibilities
* Developing and implementing a technology strategy, including architecture, that aligns with the company's overall business goals and objectives
* Lead Strategy, Engineering, Enterprise Architecture & Innovation business planning and oversee the budget, people, methodology, tools, development standards, design, testing, release, and maintenance of the technology functions
* Staying up-to-date with emerging technology trends and identifying opportunities for innovation and growth
* Ensuring technical architecture is scalable, reliable, and secure
* Drive innovation and automation across the global technical environment
* Leading the design and development of new systems and applications
* Leading the research and development of new technologies and products
* Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure the effective integration of technology across the organisation
* Communicating the company's technology vision and strategy to stakeholders, including employees and technology partners
* Attracting, retaining, and developing top technical talent.
Provide thought-leadership on the use of technology to meet and exceed business goals. Drive innovation with internal and external partners. Set a standard for Enterprise and System architecture.

Knowledge and Experience:
* Proven experience in technology leadership across strategy, enterprise and technical architecture, cloud and engineering platforms and delivery excellence
* Experience leading and managing (both direct & indirect staff), guiding and developing matrixed engineering and architecture teams, building the right engineering operating model (people, process and tools).
* Experience in helping modernise business process with a Digital technical architecture(s) which drives the platform landscape for products and services
* Experience driving technical change with a diverse group of senior stakeholders to understand business problems and surface digital solutions to address those problems.
* Experience and expertise in managing high performing strategy, architecture and engineering teams
* Experience and expertise with managing/transforming organisational capabilities through successful implementation of cloud, including embedding tools and capabilities to drive a culture of self-service and empowerment, delivered within corporate governance and guardrails.
