Job summary

Do you have an interest and passion for understanding and working with children who require assessment/treatment of young people and supporting their families? Do you want to work alongside a well-established and compassionate team in helping to assess and support these families? Then we have the right role for you. York's Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services are seeking to recruit a CAMHS Clinician to join us either full time or part time.

The team is in a position to be able to help staff develop the knowledge and experience within CAMHS and offer additional training as appropriate to role but are keen to recruit an individual who has experience to bring along with them.

Please note this post require candidates to have a professional registration as a Child, Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist.

Nursing candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework at the time of applying

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will join a large multi-disciplinary team in providing assessment and intervention to families here in York. You will become a Key Worker in co-ordinating care, ensuring that safe and effective care is provided, whilst providing evidence based interventions. Qualifications in CBT, SFP and DBT are desirable for this role but we are in a position to provide training and supervision to develop these skills.

The role can be demanding but also highly rewarding so you will need to be someone who is motivated, resilient and passionate about working with this client group. an experience CAMHS clinician who is able to manage their own caseload, with an emphasis on doing brief therapy as well as longer term specialist interventions.

Qualification

Essential

1. Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work.
2. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
3. Depending on work area, recognised sign-off mentor (or equivalent) or must be achieved within agreed timescale.
4. Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)
5. Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area (within agreed timescale)
6. 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework

Desirable

7. Leadership or management qualification.
8. Certificate in teaching & assessing in clinical practice as appropriate to own profession.
9. CAMHS Degree
10. Recognised qualification in a specific model of therapy. family therapy, CBT etc.
11. Recognised training in Facilitation of Parenting Groups

Experience

12. Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
13. Providing clinical supervision.
