Your New Role
As HR Advisor, you'll play a key role in delivering a broad generalist service across the organisation, to both office and field-based employees. This is a hands‑on role where you'll act as a first point of contact for managers and employees, providing best‑practice advice and ensuring the smooth running of HR operations, ER, Recruitment and Project & Policy Work.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a long‑term home in HR. The organisation is flexible on background and open to those with 1-2 years' advisory experience who are ready to take the next step.
The role is based in Chadderton with occasional travel to the Manchester office, so access to a car is required.
Responsibilities:
Acting as the key point of contact for managers, providing advice on disciplinary, capability and absence management
Writing and updating HR policies to ensure alignment with current legislation
Advising line managers and staff on HR policies, best practice and employment law matters
Supporting day‑to‑day operational and administrative HR tasks
Managing the recruitment, onboarding and induction lifecycle
Coaching and training management
Maintaining absence data and producing reports to support payroll processes
Management of the HRIS.
Contributing to HR project work.
What You Need to Succeed
Proven experience in a generalist HR role with advisory exposure (1-2 years' minimum)
Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice
Confidence to guide managers through people processes
A proactive, personable and down‑to‑earth approach
Willingness to "muck in" and support at all levels
Keen to learn, develop and take on new responsibilities
Ability to build strong relationships and fit well within a close‑knit team
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, multitask and manage your own workload
Ideally, local to Chadderton for office‑based work.
