Key Responsibilities
* Volunteer Program: Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers; plan and lead days of service, track hours, maintain policies and manuals, increase volunteer retention and engagement, recognize contributions and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
* Community Engagement: Maintain engagement database; create outreach materials; represent OHNC at events and speaking opportunities; cultivate partnerships and donor-based opportunities.
* Organize community fundraisers with a goal of raising at least $100,000 annually in partnership with the Development team.
* Co-lead development of monthly newsletters
* Secure funding from civic organizations and local community groups.
* Support with special events, as needed
* Other duties as assigned, based on team needs.
* This position is a mandated reporter of elder and child abuse.
Qualifications
* Preferred; Bachelor of Arts or equivalent experience in communications, business, marketing, fundraising, public relations, social services, or related field.
* Nonprofit, volunteer engagement, and fundraising experience strongly preferred; supervisory experience a plus.
* Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, Constant Contact, Donor Snap (or similar CRM)
* Experience with social media posting and engagement
* Ability to lift 40 lb; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
* Must pass background check and drug screening.
* Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation to get to and from external events through San Diego County
