Your new role
As a Senior Payroll Officer (Band 4), you’ll play a vital role in delivering an efficient, accurate, and customer-focused payroll service for Gloucestershire Hospitals and other organisations supported by Shared Services. You will manage a set payroll allocation for weekly and monthly salaries, ensuring timely and accurate payments for approximately 15,000 employees. Responsibilities include processing starters, leavers, variations, and absence data, running the weekly payroll on a rota basis, and ensuringpliance with statutory regulations and NHS terms and conditions. You’ll also support service improvement projects and have the opportunity to work flexibly, with some remote working.
What you'll need to succeed
1. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge and experience
2. Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English)
3. Knowledge of ESR (Oracle-based) and payroll procedures
4. Understanding of NHS terms and conditions and statutory regulations
5. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
6. Excellent organisational andmunication skills
7. Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines
