This is an exciting opportunity to support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality, child-focused care and developing a strong, motivated staff team. About the Role As Deputy Manager, youll play a key leadership role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and effective running of the home. Youll support the Registered Manager with day-to-day operations, take responsibility in their absence, and act as a role model to staff and young people alike. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the Registered Manager in overseeing all aspects of the homes daily operations. Providing strong leadership, supervision, and guidance to the residential care team. Ensuring compliance with the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and maintaining high Ofsted standards. Acting as the responsible person in the absence of the Registered Manager. Managing referrals, admissions, and placement transitions. Leading by example in delivering consistent, nurturing, and therapeutic care. Supporting staff development through supervision, training, and coaching. Contributing to policies, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with young people, families, and professionals to ensure personalised care and positive outcomes. For young people with complex or challenging needs, our solo and dual placement settings provide intensive therapeutic input and a highly supportive structure to help them grow with confidence and security. About You You are an experienced, compassionate professional who understands the unique challenges and rewards of residential childcare. You have strong leadership skills, emotional resilience, and a deep commitment to supporting both staff and young people. Essential Requirements: QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). At least one years experience working with children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). Experience supervising or managing staff in a residential setting. Strong understanding of the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, and Childrens Homes Regulations 2015. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Desirable: Working towards or completed the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare. Experience in a therapeutic or trauma-informed care environment.
