We are looking for an Energy & COMAH team senior advisor to help regulate energy sectors, ensuring compliance, protecting the environment, and supporting the UK’s Net Zero strategy.
Responsibilities
 * Provide expert support and technical leadership through advice, guidance, and training.
 * Develop strategy for our sectors and produce the tools to regulate, support development, and deliver environmental outcomes.
 * Commission and manage external research projects where needed.
 * Work with internal and external stakeholders such as Defra, DESNZ, internal operations teams, trade associations, and other key industry players.
 * Respond to incidents and provide business continuity support during incidents.
Experience & Skills
 * Experience working in or regulating energy sectors including combustion plants, waste incineration, and refineries.
 * Relevant technical and regulatory knowledge of environmental controls for air emissions.
 * Ability to build and maintain good relationships with colleagues, operators, partner regulators, government, trade bodies, and academia.
 * Strong teamwork skills, collaborative approach to achieve common goals.
 * Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from varied backgrounds and cultures, encouraging diversity issues.
 * Ability to deliver training and guidance on new duties.
