* SIA licence
* First Aid required
* Minimum 5 years’ experience within security
* 5-year checkable work history

Conducting regular safety and security patrols as a Security Officer.
Ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures, demonstrating the responsibilities of a Security Officer.
Supporting emergency protocols, including evacuations and searches, which are key duties for a Security Officer.


Job Description

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

To provide a security service at the working location in line with Assignment Instructions and customer requirements, ensuring protection of employees, property, and assets. Must uphold Securitas’ core values: Integrity, Vigilance, Helpfulness.
Note: Must have acquired a valid SIA licence before starting operational shifts.

The role involves Protection of Property and Premises by preventing unauthorized access, monitoring alarms and CCTV, conducting internal and external patrols as per Assignment Instructions, managing traffic control and parking restrictions, performing routine tests of security equipment, handling keys and locking/unlocking duties, maintaining logbooks and records, issuing visitor/contractor passes, and managing lost property. Under Health and Safety, the officer must provide guidance and information to staff, visitors, and contractors, follow health and safety procedures, report hazards and accidents, ensure emergency escape routes are clear, report shortages in First Aid boxes, notify the Security Operations Centre in emergencies, and respond to fire alarm activations. To Prevent Loss and Waste, the officer should report property at risk of being lost, stolen, or vandalized, and switch off unnecessary lights and close windows during patrols. For Prevent and Deter Crime, responsibilities include operating radios, pagers, and other security equipment, implementing stop-and-search policies, and investigating and reporting incidents. In terms of Customer Service, the officer must deliver outstanding service, handle problems for staff and visitors, maintain a professional appearance and uniform, and answer calls professionally.

Other Responsibilities

The role also includes booking on and off shifts and completing necessary checks, ensuring all paperwork is completed in a timely manner, and undertaking other duties as requested by management. Additionally, the officer must demonstrate a clear understanding and engagement with the Securitas core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness throughout all tasks.
