Overview
Primary Pupil Support Worker / Teaching Assistant at Belmont Primary School, Rossendale, BB4 7LJ. Permanent, term time only, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Salary £20,906.25 per annum (not pro-rata). UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship. The organisation supports a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, with full pay for four or five days depending on scheduling, as part of a wider wellbeing initiative.
Responsibilities
* Connect directly with pupils to support their learning journeys and help them get the most from education.
* Prepare learning materials and run classroom activities with hands-on experience and supervision as appropriate.
* Support pupils with emotional and physical needs and promote their development and engagement.
* Diffuse conflict when it arises and maintain appropriate boundaries with pupils and young people.
* Work with the team to contribute to a supportive, enriching classroom environment for pupils with SEMH needs.
Person Specification
* Empathy with young people facing barriers to learning and the ability to diffuse conflict.
* Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and remain calm under pressure.
* Ability to use own initiative, be flexible, and cope with the unexpected.
* Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with pupils.
* Ideally Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
* Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and time management skills; ability to work well in a team.
