We are looking for a self‑motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Yeovil District Hospital. This full‑time role works flexibly and alternates on a rotational basis between the Dispensary, Distribution and Goods In areas.
The post holder will deliver an effective Pharmacy service by:
* Dispensing prescriptions accurately for inpatients and outpatient clinics.
* Top‑up ward stocks and packing medicine boxes for courier delivery.
* Receiving, checking and storing incoming medicines and IV fluids safely.
* Assisting with medicines expiry checks, stock checks and returning medicines.

Qualifications
* Good general education to include Science, Maths and English at grades 9 to 4.
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent in‑house training.
* Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbally appropriate to the post.
Experience
* Demonstrated experience of working in a community or hospital pharmacy.
Additional Criteria
* Flexible approach to work.
* Proven experience of successfully working in a team environment.
* Show initiative but also able to follow instructions as required.
* Willingness to use technology to improve standards of care and support to patients.
