We’re looking for a Cost Analyst to support the Finance Performance Manager in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting and spend tracking across programmes. This role is ideal for someone with a foundation in cost or financial analysis who is keen to grow their skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You’ll contribute to forecasting, variance analysis, and cost governance, helping ensure financial transparency and control.
What you’ll do
1. Assist in preparing cost and financial reports for the Leadership team
2. Support the production of regular spend analysis including:Monthly Value of Work Done (VOWD)Forecast and commitment trackingKPI and operational reporting
3. Help maintain accurate procurement tracking and cost code allocation
4. Contribute to budget consolidation and forecasting activities
5. Assist in cost reporting and variance analysis, identifying risks and opportunities
6. Participate in budget review meetings and support stakeholder engagement
7. Ensure compliance with financial controls and cost governance processes
8. Collaborate with data and dashboard teams to improve reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)
9. Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders
10. Support continuous improvement of cost management tools and processes
11. Provide month-end accruals data based on actuals vs VOWD
12. Follow defined processes and procedures, while contributing to process enhancements
What to bring
Essential
13. Experience supporting Value of Work Done (VOWD) processes
14. Understanding of cost management principles and financial governance
15. Strong numeracy and analytical skills
16. Proficient in Excel and familiar with financial systems (e.g., ERP tools)
17. Clear communicator with good interpersonal skills
18. Organised and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
19. Eager to learn and contribute to team improvements
20. Comfortable working in a structured environment with support and guidance
Desirable
21. Experience in a technology, engineering, or project-based environment
22. Knowledge of budgeting cycles and financial controls
23. Exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools is a plus
24. Interest in developing advanced reporting and data visualisation skills
