Quantity Surveyor - Civil EngineeringSalary: £65,000 + benefitsLocation: King's Hill, KentAn established civil engineering contractor is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team, supporting construction schemes, term service contracts and framework agreements across the South East.This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially sharp QS with strong experience in NEC contracts, target cost projects, term service contracts and SOR-based quotations. You'll play a key role in managing cost, maximising value and supporting the successful delivery of essential infrastructure projects.The RoleYou'll take ownership of commercial management across a range of schemes, from preconstruction through to final account.Working closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors, you'll be responsible for accurate reporting, forecasting, procurement support, cost/value management and contract compliance.What You'll Be DoingMonitoring project costs and maximising value across schemesPreparing cost/value reports, forecasts and monthly account reviewsManaging financial assessments through to final agreementSupporting procurement and preconstruction activitiesProducing task quotations using SOR under term service contractsWorking with NEC contracts, including target cost arrangementsUsing systems such as Excel and CEMARAttending site visits to measure works, review progress and assess riskMonitoring subcontractor performance and compliance with specifications and RAMSKeeping reporting, correspondence and deadlines on trackWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who brings professionalism, initiative and strong commercial experience within construction or civil engineering.You'll ideally have:At least 5 years' experience in the construction industryStrong experience working under NEC conditions of contractPrevious target cost and term service contract experienceExperience preparing task quotations using SORA degree, HND or equivalent in Quantity SurveyingRICS accreditation, or working towards it, would be an advantageStrong Excel skills and experience using CEMARExcellent attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlinesYou'll Fit In Well If You ArePositive, professional and commercially drivenA strong communicator who works well with clients, site teams and subcontractorsOrganised, accurate and comfortable managing deadlinesAble to work independently with minimal supervisionFlexible, proactive and willing to get involvedWhy Apply?You'll be joining a well-established, self-delivery contractor with a strong pipeline of work across the South East.The business offers the structure and professionalism of a larger organisation while maintaining an agile, collaborative and supportive working environment.
