School Crossing Patrol - Perryfields Infant and Perryfields Junior
Permanent, Part Time
£13.00 per hour
Working Style: Community-based worker
Support your local community by joining Essex County Council's School Crossing Patrol Team as a School Crossing Patrol Officer at Perryfields County Infant School.
Assist in ensuring the safety of pedestrians crossing the road to and from the school, during morning and afternoon shifts.
We seek punctual, reliable, approachable individuals who enjoy engaging with the public.
This position involves approximately 7.5 hours per week, during 39 weeks of the academic year, with shifts of 45 minutes in the morning (08:00 - 09:00) and afternoon (14:45 - 15:45). Uniform, equipment, and training are provided.
Responsibilities:
* Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility-impaired pedestrians.
* Maintain contact with the schools attended by children using the crossing.
* Assess risks regularly and report problems or defects.
* Assist in preparing reports on incidents at the crossing.
* Maintain the condition of uniform and equipment.
* Signal clearly to drivers to stop traffic, ensuring pedestrians are safe to cross.
