Location: North West UK Employment Type: Full-Time / Long-Term Contract Duration: Up to 5 Years Salary: Competitive overtime allowances ________________________________________ About the Role We are recruiting experienced Crane Drivers to work on major shaft sinking and tunnelling projects across the North West UK. This is a long-term opportunity offering stable work for up to five years on a high-profile infrastructure scheme. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities * Operate cranes safely and efficiently in shaft sinking and tunnelling environments * Carry out lifting operations in line with approved lift plans and method statements * Communicate effectively with Slinger/Signallers using radio and hand signals * Perform daily checks and basic maintenance on crane equipment * Ensure all lifting activities are conducted in accordance with site safety procedures * Work in challenging environments, including confined and underground conditions where required * Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance ________________________________________ Essential Requirements * Valid Crane Operator certification (CPCS / NPORS or equivalent) * Proven experience working on shaft sinking and tunnelling projects * Confined Spaces certification (Medium/High Risk) - essential * Valid medical certificate (safety-critical) - essential * Strong understanding of lifting operations and crane safety * Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends if required * Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a team ________________________________________ Desirable * Experience operating cranes in confined or restricted environments * CSCS card * First Aid certification * Experience on major civil engineering or underground infrastructure projects ________________________________________ What We Offer * Long-term work (up to 5 years) on a major infrastructure project * Competitive pay rates with overtime opportunities * Travel and accommodation allowances (where applicable) * Ongoing training and career development * A strong safety-first working culture ________________________________________ How to Apply Please submit your CV along with copies of your certifications, including Crane Operator ticket, Confined Spaces, and valid medical, outlining your experience on shaft sinking and tunnelling projects.
