Job Overview
As a senior therapist in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with post‑qualification training and experience in Long Term Physical Conditions (LTCs) / Medically Unexplained Symptoms (MUS), the role requires an autonomous clinical practitioner responsible for their own actions within professional, BABCP, and service framework guidelines.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence‑based CBT and CB interventions to clients with a range of anxiety disorders, depression, and co‑morbidity with LTCs/MUS, including engaging the client’s family or informal carers as required.
* Develop, evaluate, and maintain LTC pathways within the service.
* Clinically supervise other LTC practitioners within the TT SSoT service.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships across the service and with physical health teams.
* Provide expert clinical supervision to High‑Intensity CBT therapists and Low‑Intensity workers.
* Offer expert advice, teaching, and training to colleagues within the TT service and to specialist physical health professionals.
* Collaborate with multi‑agency partners to ensure appropriate referrals and sign‑posting for clients.
* Utilise research skills for ongoing service audit, including regular outcome measures and development of integrated pathways.
* Take an active role in Clinical Governance, supporting professional development and the maintenance of high‑quality psychological care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Essential: PgDip in CBT or equivalent, BABCP accreditation/membership, LTC top‑up training.
* Desirable: Masters‑level studies relating to LTC or Physical Health Psychology.
Experience
* Essential: 2 years experience as QCBT therapist, LCT experience and supervision received/given, teaching CBT at postgraduate level, experience across multiple modalities (couples, group, family, etc.).
* Desirable: Experience working within a multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency health setting, familiarity with more than one model of psychological therapy.
