Job Overview
Cygnet Group is currently recruiting an experienced Mental Health Support Worker for our new state‑isation PICU & Acute hospital for women at Cygnet Hospital Oldbury, West Midlands.
About the Role
The role involves working 42 hours per week, including days, nights and weekends, across a 12‑bed PICU ward and a 15‑bed Acute ward. You will be part of a full multi‑disciplinary team supporting adults with acute mental health needs, including those who may require intensive care.
Key Responsibilities
* Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all patients.
* Provide guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
* Learn about individuals’ specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way.
* Assist with medical and welfare needs.
* Report on medical and welfare needs as required.
* Safeguard all patients and visitors.
* Maintain a safe, clean environment for all.
* Use innovative methods to improve patient care.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experienced Mental Health Support Worker with over 6 months of experience within an acute/PICU mental health setting or over 2 years of mental health experience.
* Genuinely driven with a desire to make a real difference in people’s lives.
* Excellent communicator and a good team player.
* Sensitive and intuitive, with the energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating and varied environment.
* Compassion, resilience and a dedication to empower and support service‑user independence.

Requirements
