Position Overview:
* We are seeking a qualified, experienced, and motivated nurse to join as a Nutrition Nurse.
* The role includes training, supervision, and assessment in practical and clinical skills to support the nutrition service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess patients referred for parenteral and enteral nutrition.
* Manage patients requiring intravenous access devices such as PICC lines and enteral feeding tubes (nasojejunal, PEG).
* Teach patients, carers, and healthcare professionals once competent.
* Ensure peer review of nursing staff regarding tube care and management.
* Work within a multidisciplinary team across clinical boundaries.
* Collaborate with enteral agencies for safe nutrition support at home.
* Act as a role model and expert, providing clinical guidance and support.
* Undertake clinical supervision and act as a resource for healthcare professionals.
* Ensure efficient use of resources and contribute to service development.
* Monitor health, safety, and security, promoting best practices.
* Lead investigations into incidents and complaints when required.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and promote an open, transparent culture.
* Demonstrate clinical leadership and challenge boundaries to enhance patient care.
