Overview
WCS is a crewing company operating out of Brighton and serving the South East coast, London, and the Midlands.
As Operations Manager, you'll work on recruiting the best talent, form strong, dependable teams, create opportunities for people from marginalised backgrounds, and drive sales by bringing in and building relationships with clients across the fields of music, events, entertainment, and sport. This role will suit someone who enjoys challenges and variety and wants to work in a values-led organisation.
You will be managing crews at events and festivals and on the installation of sets and structures for clients. You'll work across pop-up spaces, train stations, shopping centres, and outdoor locations including green fields sites on FOH, barriers and fencing, staging, and site management.
You'll conduct site visits and advance installations and events, recruit, train, book and manage the crew, and liaise with subcontractors to ensure an efficient, safe, and timely installation or event set-up. You'll use communication skills and experience to solve problems, find creative approaches, and constantly develop new skills and ways of working. You'll work both in an office and workshop environment as well as onsite, and maintain high standards of quality and H&S to maximise repeat business.

Experience
* 7+ years of experience working as events crew, site manager, operations manager or similar
* 5+ years of crew management experience as crew chief/boss/lead or similar
* 2+ years of experience working at and/or managing teams at large scale events
* Experience working on different types of sites, from green fields/festivals and road closure to shopping malls, train stations, and in-store

Role
* Site visits, including meeting with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
* Booking crew, hotels, travel
* Management of crew and contractors on site
* Lead generation, client development, and client retention
* Liaising with venues and locations
* Managing logistics (trucking, packs, load in and out)
* Recruiting crew and casual staff
* Managing and motivating a large team including crew and subcontractors

This is a role with development potential and training can be offered to the right candidate. The role will initially be in-person but hybrid working and flexible hours may be offered after successful completion of a probationary period. For full time positions, holiday allowance is 39 days per year.
This position involves overnight stays, weekend and evening working, working on location, national and occasional international travel, for which you will be offered time off in lieu and your expenses paid.
