Overview
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and team-oriented individual to appoint into the post of Social Work Support Officer within the kinship support service. This is a team, established in October 2022, supporting children and families living within kinship arrangements.
Responsibilities
* Provide essential administrative support to social workers, family workers and welfare rights officers within a Children’s Social Care setting.
* Be the first point of contact for families, local authority professionals and partner agencies, and manage difficult conversations tactfully, respectfully and effectively over the telephone and occasionally in person.
* Record information accurately onto the internal database system (Mosaic) with excellent listening, recording and typing skills.
* Demonstrate strong organisation, time management, and the ability to meet deadlines; build excellent interpersonal relationships with colleagues and families.
* Maintain and contribute to a positive team environment; support the work of the kinship support service.
Qualifications / Skills
* Experience as an administrator with strong administration skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft packages (Teams, Word, Excel, Databases, PowerPoint and Outlook).
* Knowledge of SharePoint is desirable; minute taking experience would be advantageous.
* Highly organised with excellent time management and the ability to work to deadlines.
* Excellent listening, recording and typing skills; ability to record information accurately.
* Ability to communicate effectively with families and professionals; driving licence is advantageous but not essential. A taxi service is provided where disability precludes this.
* Hybrid working available (office-based and/or home-based); limited travel may be required.
