We are seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Engineer to support a major automotive manufacturing customer in the West Midlands. You will join the Trim & Final Facilities Engineering function, working on the development and introduction of new or modified production facilities linked to model launches and annual model updates.
This position is ideal for an engineer with strong project delivery capability, excellent stakeholder management skills, and experience within a complex manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Facilities Engineer, you will:
* Develop robust delivery plans that minimise disruption to ongoing production operations.
* Design and define facility solutions to meet required throughput, quality standards, and capability targets.
* Manage contractors in strict accordance with site policies and safety procedures.
* Lead problem‑solving activities using recognised methodologies and tools.
* Deliver projects end‑to‑end — from initial concept through design, installation, commissioning, and final handover.
* Identify and manage timing, risks, issues, and dependencies throughout project lifecycle.
* Co‑ordinate with cross‑functional stakeholders to achieve clear project scopes, design reviews, acceptance criteria, and successful buy‑off.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
* Strong experience in facilities engineering within a manufacturing environment (ideally automotive).
* A proven track record in delivering technical projects safely, on time, and to required standards.
* Advanced understanding of facility installation, modification, and commissioning.
* Excellent communication, planning, and contractor‑management skills.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
* A proactive, detail‑driven approach with strong problem‑solving capability.
