Job Title: FOS officer Salary: £24,976.00 - £26,621 per annum 35 Hours per Week Location: Wildwood Campus, Worcester WR5 2QT, with some hybrid working options. Team: Accounts Payable Permanent Contract Opportunity - FOS Officer Within Finance Operational Services (FOS) we are continually working to ensure the services we deliver support the wider business, our adults and children with care and support needs, and our customer journey too. We support the Finance Operational Services (FOS) Leadership Team in providing strategic, statutory and core financial services to directly support the Council in helping to maintain, improve and deliver frontline services for Worcestershire’s customers, residents and businesses. We currently have a position with the Accounts Payable team. The role within Accounts Payable The processing of invoices, credit notes, non-order payments and one-off BACS requests on behalf of Worcestershire County council Ensuring best practice is followed throughout the procure to pay process, such as compliance with the No PO, No pay policy. Supporting payment quality and ensuring that risks around incorrect and duplicate payment processing are minimised. Escalation of non-refunded payments, from chasing these to raising invoices. Swift handling of supplier creation queries and maintenance of supplier records to ensure prompt payment to suppliers. Proactive management of team email mailboxes Journaling and accruals as required. Procurement card administration and query support. Payment run processing and support. Clearance of suspended, held and aged transactions Support the team management with monitoring and reporting. Close cross working with teams such as banking to ensure the seamless flow of payment processing.
