Vision for Education is seeking an experienced Youth Worker to support students with Autism, Learning Difficulties, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs in primary and/or secondary schools.
About the role:
* The Youth Worker will provide one-to-one support to students with special educational needs, with a preference for male candidates.
* Build strong rapport to encourage attendance and engagement.
* Follow teachers' guidance while managing conflicts based on understanding of the student.
* Work hours: 8:30 - 15:30, Monday to Friday.
* Term-time only, for the full academic year.
About the school:
* Located in Plymouth.
* Supports students with moderate needs, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
* Accessible via parking and public transport.
* Offers weekly CPD training and team meetings to support staff.
About you:
* Relevant Level 3 Qualification (e.g., Children and Young People's Workforce, Sporting qualifications) is desirable but not essential.
* Ability to obtain references and a valid DBS check.
* Experience working with children with challenging behaviors and backgrounds.
* Non-judgmental and caring approach.
