Consultant Psychiatrist - Older Adult Inpatient, Barrow
The Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Older Adult Inpatient team at the beautiful Barrow in Furness. The post is full‑time (10PA) and based in the Ramsay Ward within the Dane Garth Unit of Furness General Hospital.
Job Summary
Respond to complex psychiatric needs of older adults in an inpatient setting, participate in the Consultant on‑call rota (additional remuneration 0.5 PA + 5 % supplement), and support peer groups and multidisciplinary teams. This role attracts a recruitment and retention premia of £40 000 payable on commencement of employment.
Key Duties
* Lead and manage older adult inpatient psychiatric care within the Ramsay Ward.
* Collaborate with nurse consultants, psychologists, clinical leads, community mental health nurses, occupational therapy, and advanced clinical practitioner trainees.
* Participate in monthly peer group meetings and contribute to quality improvement.

* Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 per annum

Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent
* Full GMC registration and licence to practise
* On GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of interview date
* Section 12 approval or within 3 months
* Approved Clinician (AC) status or within 3 months
