Position Summary
This position is responsible for the strategic planning of the shipboard marine workforce for the designated brand. This includes strategic leadership in par level management, succession planning, demographic and diversity planning and tracking, and new hire placement for the brand.
You will work daily in close partnership with CAM Planning team, Brand Marine Operations Leaders, Shipboard HR Business Partners, and shipboard teams as well as collaborate with colleagues in HR shared services, including Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Scheduling, and Travel.
This role will organise the different strategic approaches and tasks applied to guarantee the flawless continuation of service. Review the global marine scheduling needs for our brands including new builds, modernisations, and special projects in managing the marine scheduling team to fulfil the needs to par.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Engage with the marine operations brand leaders and maintain constant interaction to ensure all objectives are captured and met
2. Strategic workforce planning based on business needs (par, demographic, nationalities, skills, etc.), focusing on marine scheduling and logistics optimisation to meet the needs of the fleet
3. Inform and updates leadership regarding the status of the planning and bring to light any potential obstacles ahead
4. Works closely with functional areas to clearly understand current and future sourcing needs and plan accordingly. This includes ensuring that new hires are moved from the gap pool in a timely manner and that, in collaboration with the appropriate operational partners when applicable, active crew members are properly assigned into new roles from the pipeline based on guidance from CAM Planning team
5. Collaborates and strategises to ensure shipboard manning exceeds expectation
6. Provides inputs to enhance HR operations response to the business needs
7. Assures contingent plans are in place to address any challenges and risks that could arise
8. Provide real-time solutions to business issues for operational success
9. Has the shared responsibility for CAM management relative to marine crew movement across the fleet
Qualifications
10. Minimum 5 years senior management / progressive leadership experience in Workforce Planning, Human Resource Management, or related field; shipboard HR experience a plus
11. Experience within employee relations investigating, negotiating and resolving grievances and conflicts, preferably in a multi-cultural, diverse environment
12. Strong analytical and written communication skills
13. Communicates tactfully, effectively and confidently with various business groups, HR function heads and shipboard management teams
14. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
15. Ability to speak additional languages for the APAC region an advantage

18. Possess strong analytic and communication skills (both written and verbal) with experience in presenting complex ideas/concepts to senior-level management
19. Possesses strong technical accounting skills. Effective use of common sense and ability to relate to and consult to/with senior management will be imperative
