Data and Reporting Specialist role at Southern Water, an inclusive employer and member of myGwork – LGBTQ+ Business Community. Location: Durrington - Hybrid (2 office days and remaining days work from home). Driving licence is essential. Contract: Permanent. Hours: 37 per week. Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum. During a time of transformation, this role will join the team during the beginning phases of a major rollout project to move the business towards a data-led future. Southern Water are rolling out a software package for asset management; this role will be heavily involved in analysing data relating to this software, providing reports, making recommendations for improvements, and supporting users on the software.
Responsibilities
* Developing data and analytics products for use in the line of business.
* Working with the OAM Project team to share and embed good practice, and with key stakeholders to plan, prioritise and shape work.
* Provide data analysis and transformations to enable clean and efficient transfer into Maximo and provide ongoing data quality.
* Identify continuous improvement opportunities through data and product analysis with stakeholders and outcome owners.
Qualifications & Skills
* Curious – interested in asking questions about what, how or why.
* Organised and capable of managing a single workstream and tasks.
* Passionate about the possibilities; able to design and develop simple, end-to-end analytics products within frameworks.
* Able to understand business processes and IT processes.
Knowledge
* Experience in data and analytics technologies such as Qlik and Alteryx.
* Experience using Maximo, ESRI ArcGIS or similar products.
Preferred Tools & Methods
* Power BI for data visualisation; data preparation and manipulation using SQL, R, and related tools; knowledge of statistical modelling and trend forecasting.
Accountabilities
* Work with stakeholders to plan, prioritise and shape work; provide data analysis to enable data-driven decisions.
* Collaborate with the Data & Analytics team to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
