Mechanical Technician - Derry City - Permanent Position: Mechanical TechnicianLocation: Derry CitySalary: £30k to £35k (DOE) + attractive benefits packageRiada Resourcing is recruiting on behalf of a leading advanced manufacturing company for a Mechanical Technician to join its Engineering and Assembly team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving mechanical systems and production equipment in a fast-paced technical environment.
With over 25 years' experience in industrial automation, the company delivers bespoke machine-build, robotics, and automation solutions to customers worldwide.
Hours & Working Environment:
7.45am – 5.45pm, Monday to Thursday (38 hours per week)On‑site role with occasional travel to customer sites (driving licence preferred)Employee Benefits:

This includes installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on mechanical equipment and production systemsInstall, commission, and modify machinery and automation systemsBuild, test, and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and automation componentsWork closely with engineering, automation, and electrical teams to resolve technical issuesSupport continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performanceMaintain accurate records and provide technical support to meet production targetsLiaise with customers and ensure effective communication throughout projectsFollow all health & safety and quality proceduresEssential Criteria:
Recognised engineering qualification at Level 3 or aboveStrong mechanical/electrical aptitude and problem‑solving abilityAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematicsKnowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systemsExperience with precision tools, alignment, and calibrationTransferable skills from a previous multi‑skilled roleProven experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical/pneumatic systemsAbility to learn quickly in a fast‑moving environmentCompetence with general computer applicationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsIf this sounds like the next step in your career, we’d love to hear from you!
