Job summary: An exciting opportunity for a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist, Band 8B, to join a new innovative Forensic Liaison Partnership team within NSCHT Mental Health Rehabilitation pathway. The post supports delivery of Psychological Services for a specialist community liaison and partnership service for those who have previously been in forensic services. Efficient transition between forensic and non-forensic mental health services is a key component of the patient pathway. The overall aim is to reduce unwarranted variation and develop existing services to enhance the efficiency of transitions of care and patient flow.
This post is in Harplands Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 6TH, with flexible working options and a commitment to wellbeing and sustainability as part of Greener NHS initiatives.
Responsibilities
* To work autonomously in undertaking highly specialised single case assessments, formulations and consultations to develop understanding of presentation, symptoms and management difficulties within a psychological framework.
* To provide consultation, supervision and support to transitioning teams in the community to enable services to feel confident in providing mental health support to this client group.
* To utilise highly specialist psychological skills to develop case formulations that inform safe and effective future care, considering historical and developmental factors and different theoretical models.
* To make highly skilled decisions in advising colleagues and partners on evidence-based management plans and to monitor efficacy through regular consultations, adjusting formulations as transitions from secure to non-secure care occur.
* To contribute to risk assessment and management to support transitions from inpatient to community settings.
* To maintain professionalism in the face of emotive and distressing material and develop strong working relationships with secure service and community colleagues to underpin effective liaison.
* To communicate complex information about client formulation and management plans in an accessible way to colleagues.
Qualifications
* An honours degree and membership of the British Psychological Society (Essential)
* Significant experience as a Clinical or Forensic psychologist with experience at senior psychologist level (Essential)

* UK Registration with current professional registration
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act conditions
