Job Description
Client-side infrastructure delivery | Capital works | Operational estate | Multi-project environment
Tilbury | £45,000 – £48,000
This is a client-side infrastructure position within a live port environment, delivering a diverse portfolio of civil and infrastructure projects ranging from small reactive repairs through to multi-million-pound capital schemes.
One week you may be overseeing a pavement repair. The next, you could be managing elements of a £50m container terminal upgrade. You will look at marine tower structure, conveyor installation or heavy-duty quayside infrastructure.
If you have experience within a port, airport, local authority, highways, utilities, rail or similar operational infrastructure environment - this is the type of role you will thrive in.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Support and lead the delivery of multiple concurrent infrastructure and capital works projects across the estate, ensuring safe, compliant and cost-effective outcomes.
* Managing projects from concept through to completion
* Preparing technical specifications and tender documentation
* Procuring and overseeing framework contractors
* Managing project budgets, valuations and variations
* Coordinating stakeholders across operational teams
* Overseeing CDM 2015 compliance and reviewing Construction Phase Plans
* Inspecting works and maintaining accurate project documentation
* Supporting design modifications using AutoCAD
* Balancing reactive works alongside planned capital schemes
About You
* Ideal backgrounds include: Port or marine infrastructure, Airport engineering, Local Authority, Highways capital works, Utilities infrastructure, Rail infrastructure, Industrial estates or operational facilities
* We’re looking for someone with experience delivering civil or infrastructure projects within the UK.
* Experience managing contractors rather than supervising labour directly
* Exposure to tendering, procurement and contract management
* Budget and programme management experience
* Ability to manage multiple concurrent schemes
* Degree in Civil Engineering (or HNC/HND with strong relevant experience)
This is not a main contractor site management role. It is client-side project delivery within an
operational estate.
Why This Role Stands Out
* Exceptional project variety, from small reactive repairs to major infrastructure schemes
* Exposure to marine, heavy industrial and logistics infrastructure
* Autonomy and ownership from day one
* Complex operational environment, no two days the same
* Long-term career development within a strategic infrastructure asset
* Exceptional benefits package, with 35 days holiday, wellbeing initiatives, solid pension and heaps more
