We are currently seeking an empathetic and compassionate individual to join our team as a Family Engagement Officer. Team Teulu is our local authority approach to family engagement. As we approach our third year of delivery, we are looking to recruit a new Family Engagement Officer to continue our recognised good practice approaches in two schools within the Pontardawe valleys.
As a Family Engagement Officer you will demonstrate their approachability and empathy in supporting families, and have a strong sense of moral purpose. The post holders will bring their energy and people skills to represent our core values to our stakeholders, with particular focus on pupil and family voice, and feeding back our impact and outcomes to all.
Your daily routine will be varied; no two days are the same. It involves meeting with parents and family members on a one to one basis and in group sessions, delivering engagement activities to families across the duration of the week. You will meet regularly with the school headteacher and Team Teulu Learning Community Manager to shape engagement activities around the needs of the families.
You will be supporting schools to implement poverty-sensitive practices, including the set up of uniform swap shops, supporting parents in completing grant application forms, and building relationships with your local food banks.
