Are you an HLTA with experience working with EBD and SEMH pupils? We are currently looking for a higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in a highly regarded Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Camden. The PRU supports pupils with various behavioural and emotional needs that require support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
The Role
In this role, you will work with pupils in KS3 and KS4. You should have experience in a PRU or similar environment and be confident as an HLTA to lead your own groups. You will work closely with other staff and professionals to manage challenging emotional and social behaviour daily. You may oversee some class groups and be involved in outreach work with pupils in community settings or other schools.
You must have a calm and resilient approach and be able to build strong rapport with students.
This role is offered on a full-time ongoing contract basis, starting immediately.
The PRU
The PRU works with secondary pupils who have been permanently excluded from mainstream settings. Pupils have the opportunity to develop skills in a supportive environment that fosters tolerance and confidence. The centre helps pupils refocus on learning and provides specialist support for individual development. There is an established leadership team and teaching staff, with shared learning and training to help you become an excellent SEMH practitioner.
The school is easily accessible by bus and tube.
