Job Description:
AECOM is currently seeking an Associate Director (Fire Engineer). This is a consultancy-based position requiring demonstrable experience in various sectors and technical fire engineering within a client-focused environment.
You will oversee and develop a team of fire engineers, requiring developmental experience in a professional setting.
This role suits an established consultant seeking the next step or someone interested in joining a multidisciplinary design consultancy and a respected fire safety firm.
What you’ll do!
People
* Lead and manage team workload, project delivery, and performance.
* Oversee project delivery in the Middle East, ensuring compliance and client satisfaction.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and leadership to ensure timely, on-budget, high-quality projects.
* Lead performance reviews, set SMART goals, and support staff development and mentoring.
Projects
* Estimate budgets and schedules for fire engineering on large projects.
* Lead project delivery nationally and internationally.
* Become an AECOM Approved Lead Verifier and Project Manager.
* Manage technical client relationships and contribute to business growth.
Business
* Implement health and safety policies.
* Maintain good client relationships.
* Promote AECOM’s Fire Engineering services and attract new business.
* Support team KPIs and develop business and marketing strategies.

Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?
Requirements:
* Experience in a large, multidisciplinary environment.
* Knowledge of Middle Eastern standards (NFPA, IBC, IFC, UAE Fire Code, etc.).
* Proficiency with fire engineering tools like FDS, SFS, evacuation software.
* Membership in professional institutions (e.g., MI Fire) or NFPA certifications (e.g., CFPE).
Preferred:
* UK or other nationalities.
* Security clearance.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Institute of Fire Engineering.
* Advanced knowledge of fire engineering tools and standards.
* MSc or PhD in fire-related disciplines.
* International experience with IBC, SFPE, NFPA standards.
