We need you to be like minded in this approach, valuing the small things which are important to each of our residents.We'd love you to be NVQ/QCF 2 qualified in Health & Social Care, but that is not a deal breaker. Ideally you will have had some care experience but this is not essential as we provide lots of training.
The key to us is that you share our values.In addition, you need to possess good communication skills, be a team player, be reliable and committed and have a natural affinity to older people.What will I be doing?Providing personal care to clients which is person centred and respects individual choicesProviding additional care and support as required when a client is unwell or towards end of lifeActing as a Key-worker to a number of clientsUsing personal knowledge and experience of working with those individuals to support the nurses in writing and reviewing care plansDocumenting care given, recording any changes and reporting these to the person in charge of the shiftProviding support and advice to residents' families and friends, keeping them informed at an appropriate level with due regard to the adherence of confidentialityWorking with the Activities Team to develop group and 1:1 activities that will be engaging and of interest to the residentsLiaising with other agencies as required in the interests of the resident for example; GP, Social Services, Occupational Therapist, etc.What can we offer?Minimum of 5.6 weeks' holiday including bank holidaysEnhanced annual leave after five years to reward long service and dedicationExtensive training and continual personal developmentPaid breaks and meals provided while on duty in our care homesFree initial DBS checkFree parking (subject to availability)An Employee Assistance Programme offering 24 hour support for staff and their immediate family membersFree occupational health support during periods of sicknessWhat is Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill like?Brendoncare Otterbourne Court is a new care home in Hampshire, nestled in the village of Otterbourne. The residential home provides both dementia and nursing care for up to 64 residents in a family-like environment, filled with opportunities for friendship and a sense of community.For a home-from-home feel, Otterbourne Court is divided into smaller households of 16 bedrooms. Our experience over the last 35 years has shown that these smaller households create a lovely family-like atmosphere.
At Otterbourne Court, each household includes a selection of communal areas and facilities where you can socialise with other residents. There are also other spaces for quieter occupations and tranquillity.The layout of the households has been specifically designed to help people find their way around easily.
