Are you looking for a stable, rewarding career where you can genuinely make a difference in people’s lives every single day? Do you want to feel valued, supported, and proud of the work you do?
We’re currently looking for compassionate, reliable individuals to join our growing team on a full-time basis, supporting clients across Darlington to live safely, comfortably, and independently in their own homes.
Why Join Heritage Healthcare North East?
At Heritage Healthcare North East, we believe care is about people, not just tasks. Every visit is an opportunity to brighten someone’s day, provide reassurance, and make a real impact. You’ll be part of a team that truly cares – not only about our clients, but about you too.
Whether you’re new to care or looking to build on your experience, we’ll give you the training, support, and confidence to succeed.
The Role
As a Care Assistant, no two days are the same. You’ll be supporting a range of individuals with different needs, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Companionship – spending quality time with clients, building trust, reducing loneliness, and becoming a friendly, familiar face
* Personal Care – assisting with washing, dressing, and personal hygiene, always promoting dignity and respect
* Daily Living Support – preparing meals, prompting medication, and helping with light household duties to keep homes safe and comfortable
* Mobility Support – assisting clients to move safely and confidently, encouraging independence wherever possible
This role is about more than care – it’s about connection, compassion, and making someone’s day just that little bit better.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who are kind, patient, and genuinely want to help others. You don’t need previous experience in care – just the right attitude and willingness to learn.
You will need:
* A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
* The Right to Work in the UK
* A caring, positive, and dependable nature
* Good communication skills and a desire to make a difference

* Paid mileage and travel time (31p per mile)
* Full training provided, with ongoing development opportunities
* Career progression pathways, including NVQs and senior roles
