Provide routine nursing care, including blood pressure checks, health screening, wound care, smears, medication reviews, and immunisations.
Assist with chronic disease management for conditions such as diabetes, asthma, hypertension, and COPD.
Provide health promotion advice, including smoking cessation, weight management, and healthy living.
Perform phlebotomy (blood sample collection) and other diagnostic tests as required.
Deliver sexual health advice and family planning services, including contraception and sexual health screenings.
Ensure accurate documentation of all patient interactions, maintaining high standards of record-keeping in line with practice policies.
Participate in the delivery of vaccination programmes, including flu vaccinations and childhood immunisations.
Support patients with preventative care and long-term health management, encouraging lifestyle changes.
Work closely with the wider healthcare team, ensuring patient care is seamless and integrated.
Due to restructuring, a part-time opportunity exists at our rural dispensing practice, Monday to Friday. We seek an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated, and proactive nurse to join our small, friendly team.
We are looking for a well-rounded, clinically skilled Practice Nurse who fits our team philosophy. Development into additional areas is encouraged. The role requires availability all day Tuesdays and either Wednesday or Thursday afternoons.
Main duties include delivering high-quality clinical care, working with GPs, and being a registered nurse with current NMC registration.
Essential experience includes proven primary care nursing, chronic disease management, and proficiency in wound care, blood pressure checks, immunisations, smear taking, and phlebotomy.
Strong communication skills, ability to work autonomously, and commitment to professional development are required.
Desirable qualifications include experience in sexual health advice, contraception, family planning, immunisation training, phlebotomy qualification, and experience with electronic health records like SystmOne or EMIS Web.
Qualifications must include registration with the NMC, IMMS and travel vaccinations, cervical smear taking, chronic disease reviews, and INR Star training. Pessary fitting/changes are desirable.
